What is Hack Without Borders?
Hack Without Borders is a beginner friendly hackathon where students will have the opportunity to break barriers in technology and society through their creative solutions. The purpose of this hackathon is to empower students to engineer with purpose and challenge them to use technology to make an impact in their community.
With speakers, workshops, and student intern panels, Hack without Borders will give students the opportunity to expand their technical skills and learn from like minded individuals while hacking.
At Hack Without Borders, students can contribute in any way they envision—whether through coding, design, research, or other creative problem-solving approaches. This hackathon welcomes everyone, from programmers to artists, activists to engineers to come together and collaborate on meaningful solutions.
Theme
The theme, Breaking Barriers in Technology, focuses on making technology more inclusive for underrepresented communities such as individuals with disabilities, immigrants, racial minorities, low-income communities and many more. It also addresses larger systemic issues that create barriers in everyday life such as climate change, education inequality, and problems highlighted by the United Nations.
